Chattanooga's West Village is a bit safer after a visit from Batman.

Chattanooga Police Officer Daniel Russell was parked outside the Westin on Pine Street last week when he met a little boy dressed as Batman. The five-year-old boy was masked and did not share his name with onlookers.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page, the little Batman was chasing Joker when Officer Russell jumped in to assist. He offered his fingerprint kit to "dust" the streets in hopes of collecting evidence in the search.

"Batman kept the card to put into his obviously much more sophisticated version of the AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System)," the post noted.

The post ended with, "Case is pending."

If you have information that could help in the search, Batman appreciates all leads.
