Walk 4 Water provides lifelong lesson for Signal Mountain students
Signal Mountain Middle High School students have been learning about the importance of clean water in impoverished countries.
During the Walk 4 Water campaign, students walk around the school's track while carrying heavy jugs of water. This is what people in many countries often carry for many miles to provide clean water in their homes.
They are asking family, friends and neighbors to support their "walk 4 water" by donating at least $16.60. That is the cost of providing ten people in Zimbabwe water for life, according to Healing Hands International.
They are also learning a lesson that will stay with them for life.
This is the third year for the program at the school, which includes students in sixth and ninth grades. Their goal is to raise $7,500. If you would like to contribute, visit the Healing Hand's International website.
