Parent expresses concerns about overcrowding on Hamilton Co. School buses
Overcrowded school buses are becoming an issue for Hamilton County Schools.
Roddy Coe has two children attending school in the district. His youngest, Ethan, attends Hunter Middle School. Ethan is autistic and is riding the bus for the first time.
Coe said on average seven to eight children are standing on a bus. He said it's alarming, and we should never forget the impact of the Woodmore bus crash.
"Obviously all it takes is a simple tap on the brakes, and the kid goes flying down the center aisle," Coe said.
Channel 3 checked into the state law for transportation. It states that buses cannot exceed the manufacturers listed capacity.
Coe said he has contacted the sheriff's office about the issue.
