UPDATE: The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says a deadly shooting on Mowbray Mountain over the weekend has been ruled a homicide.

Deputies found 69-year-old Roger Kelley deceased Sunday on Hotwater Road.

Channel 3 spoke to people who live nearby and they tell us they didn't notice any activity going on inside or around his home.

Friends describe Kelley as a good man who mostly kept to himself. They said he lived on Mowbray Mountain the majority of his life. That's where he raised his family and was expecting his first grandchild in a few weeks. 

The sheriff's office says no suspects have been detained or arrested at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.

PREVIOUS STORY: Hamilton County sheriff's deputies are looking into what led to a deadly shooting in Soddy-Daisy.

Investigators said it happened around 5:00 p.m. on Hotwater Road near Mike Branch Road.

Deputies said they found a person dead from a gunshot wound.

Right now, that person's name has not been released.
