Three people were arrested Sunday in McMinn County for an armed robbery that ended with the victim being shot.

It happened at a home on County Road 249 around 9:00 p.m.

Sheriff Joe Guy said the victim told deputies that three people in a black car robbed him at his home and fired a handgun, grazing the victim.

The trio, a woman, and two men, fled the scene.

“Deputies responded within minutes,” Sheriff Guy said, “and very quickly developed a suspect and vehicle description. They canvassed the area and passed the information on to other agencies.”

“About an hour later, Englewood officers noticed a vehicle matching the description,” Sheriff Guy said. “They did a great job in executing a traffic stop and identifying the suspects, and were instrumental in helping us locate the firearm that the suspects had disposed of.”

“It was a great example of good police work by both agencies,” added Sheriff Guy.

The suspects charged in the incident are 22-year-old Colbin Seth Hancock, 26-year-old Joshua Paul King, and 24-year-old Alicia Nicole Wooden.

All three suspects were charged with Aggravated Robbery and were booked into the McMinn County Jail, each under a $25,000 bond.

“Sgt. Tony Allman’s shift and the Englewood Officers are to be commended for quickly resolving this issue,” said Sheriff Guy.
