No one injured in Ringgold officer-involved shooting, GBI investigating
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened in Ringgold Saturday night.
Ringgold police officers were working to stop a stolen tractor-trailer on I-75 around 9:30 pm, the police chief explained.
The suspect, identified by the GBI as John Raymond Tabor, rammed one of the patrol cars and attempted to run the officers over.
A Ringgold patrol car and another semi-truck were hit by the stolen 18-wheeler during the incident, a GBI spokesperson explained.
Ringgold Police Chief Dan Bilbrey said shots were fired as a result.
No one was injured, and the suspect is in custody.
"The GBI will continue its independent investigation and once complete, it will be turned over to the Lookout Mountain District Attorney for review," a GBI spokesperson explained.
