Debris around chemical tank at Mueller Co. burns, public not in danger
Firefighters in Cleveland were called to a chemical fire at Mueller Company Saturday afternoon.
The fire department said the call came in just after 1:15 pm. Firefighters were able to get on scene in just six minutes.
Smoke was showing when first responders arrived at the plant in the 600 block of Industrial Drive SW. Debris around a tank, holding the chemical xylene, was on fire. The chemical itself was not.
A fire department spokesperson added that there were some vapors in the building, but there is no risk to the public.
