Good Morning Tennessee Valley!

Showers and storms will be increasing this morning. It will be a wet morning commute for many. Grab the umbrella as periods of showers and storms are expected through tonight. A Flash Flood Watch is valid for counties in north Georgia, and in Tennessee east of I-75 starting at 8 AM today through Friday 8 AM EDT. Rainfall amounts of 0.50" to 1" are expected by tonight, with locally higher amounts in north Georgia near 1" to 2" total.

Rain showers will continue Thursday and Friday for the world's longest yard sale. By Friday many locations will have exceeded 3" of rain in the Tennessee Valley. Highest values closer to 4" to 5" will be possible across Cherokee Co in North Carolina, and closer to the Smokies. Temperatures today and through Thursday look to be 10-12 degrees below normal for the beginning of August! Temperatures look to warm slightly by Friday and through this weekend, with temperatures in the middle 80s. Not too bad for yard sale goers!
