A worker for a local tree service was hurt Tuesday afternoon while trying to stop a work truck from rolling down a hill.

It happened around 2:40 p.m. in the 8000 block of Woodstone Drive in Hixson.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Matt Lea says the truck somehow came out of gear and began rolling down the hill as workers were loading a stump grinder onto a trailer.

One of the workers, whose name has not been released, tried to stop the truck and was injured in the process.

Lea says the truck ended up hitting an empty police car, pushing it further down the hill and into the front porch of a home.

The worker was taken to a local hospital. The worker’s condition is unknown.

The home and both vehicles were damaged.
