When it comes to the selfie camera, we can almost all agree, we're terrible photographers. The nose looks too big, hair's out of place, shadows highlight every imperfection in our skin. The truth is, a smartphone camera is awful for shooting selfies.

Most phones' 'selfie cam' has a super-wide angle lens that stretches and distorts you face. The nose that looks just fine when you look in the mirror suddenly looks like something out of a cartoon.

If you're never happy with how you look in your selfies, check out "Facetune." It's a photo editing app especially for selfies. It's an app that can make just about anyone look like a fashion model.

The app is available for iPhones, iPads and Android devices and it's been at or near the top of the charts of photo/video apps since it was released in The App Store.

Once the selfie is taken you open the image in "Facetune" where you have options to smooth out wrinkles and blemishes, whiten teeth, get rid of dark circles around the eyes, remove gray hair, even re-shape your face or change the size of your nose. You can also lift your eyes, make a smile a little wider and blend out any tiny imperfections of the skin.

To make changes just swipe over the photo with your finger. It takes some practice but fortunately there's a do-over option. Along the way you can quickly compare what you've got now, to the original.

Once you're finished with fixing yourself up, you can share it on social media. Post to Snapchat and Instagram where this type of thing is probably pretty common.

You'll have to pay for that vanity. Facetune is $4 for iPhones and $6 dollars in the Google Play Store.
