UPDATE: Flood waters receding but still causing issues on Cummings HWY
UPDATE: Channel 3 has learned that most problem spots from earlier are cleared.
Dispatch told Channel 3 that the only place where flooding is still an issue is on Cummings Highway. The water there is starting to recede, though.
Wreckers are currently out helping remove cars that were abandoned, dispatch added.

Cummings Road has standing water. The I-24 westbound off-ramp is blocked.

Other roads experiencing flooding include
- 12th Street
- Browns Ferry
- Long Street
- Market Street
- Broad Street
Dispatch said there is also flooding on I-24.
If there is water covering the roadway, do not drive through. Do not go around barricades either, dispatch emphasized.
At least one person has been rescued from their car after it was stuck in high water.
Dispatch also wants to remind everyone to be more aware of their surroundings when it begins getting dark outside.
