A 17-year-old girl was taken to an area hospital after she was injured in a rope swing accident Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters with the Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department reported several teens cliff jumping and rope swinging at Denny's Point, which is near Sequoyah Nuclear Plant.

Around 2:15 pm, a person made a 911 call saying that a teenager was swinging, let go of the rope and plunged into the waters. Others reported that the girl went unconscious after plunging into the water.

"Several jumped in the water and immediately put the injured female in a nearby boat to transport her across the river to Shady Grove Marina in Soddy-Daisy," Amy Maxwell with Hamilton County Emergency Services said.

Firefighters were waiting for the teen when she arrived at the marina.

The girl's condition at this time is unknown.
