Two people have been charged in Whitfield County after they shot a man and held him captive for several days.

Christopher Tyson Rollins, 34, and Kristen Kaye Weaver, 32, were charged after the victim told deputies he was shot twice on July 1 and held captive until July 3. The victim said he was tortured and burned while he was held.

He was finally able to escape early and go to the hospital early Tuesday morning.

A search warrant was executed at the home where the victim was held. Investigators were able to find evidence showing the victim was held and tortured.

Investigators also found multiple firearms, explosives, methamphetamine and drug-related objects at the home.

Rollins and Weaver were charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Kidnapping
  • Possession of a firearm during commission of a crime
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of Methamphetamine

The Whitfield County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations are investigating.
