Food City awards $25,000 in Charity Challenge
As part of Food City's 100th Anniversary, they are donating more than $100,000 to charitable organizations.
Food City teamed up with WRCB to host their Charity Challenge. The contest began April 18th and continued through May 29th. Participating local charities asked the public to vote for the charity of their choice.
The votes have been tallied and today, company officials presented checks to the winners. The Kidney Foundation of Chattanooga received $12,500. The second place winner, the Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabiliation received $7,500 and third place winner, the Salvation Army was awarded $5,000. The winning organizations say they're very thankful for the support.
On Saturday, Food City's Treasure Hunt Prize Patrol, also a part of the company's 100th anniversary, awarded more than $10,000 to Red Bank area customers, who showed their Valu Card and several Food City brand products in their homes.
