A local team once again proves that it's more than just wins and losses.

Rossville High grad and longtime Ridgeland Panther fan David Betty is battling bladder cancer, he was home resting in his Ridgeland Panther shirt when the Panthers led by head coach Cortney Braswell showed up to brighten his day.

The Panthers poured into Betty's living room, they took pictures, swapped stories and bonded.

Braswell said on Facebook, "This game we play is apart of a much grander scheme, we are challenged to show love, gratitude, and appreciation to ALL those around us. We are required to serve, to go above and beyond for our fellow man, why...because life is about more than football, it's about people, it's about connection, it's about giving. For us to have the opportunity to make someone else's day better, that is better than any touchdown anyone could ever score."

Judging by the below tweet from current Panther Jordan Hughley, it made a lasting impression with the Panthers.
