Grammy Award-winning performer Darius Rucker has fallen under the spell of some children.

Rucker invited his friends to his charity event Darius and Friends on Tuesday night to raise funds for the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis.

“When I walked in there the first time, it was so moving and inspiring and that’s what started all this for me. I just want to do something that could help them,” said Rucker. “It’s crazy that no one gets a bill and I wanted to be able to help. It’s been an awesome nine years.”

Country music artists are among the most generous. They give a lot of their time and their money to help others not as fortunate.

“I’m the luckiest guy in the world to live the last 25 years of my life,” said Rucker. “I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
