The Chattanooga Fire Department was called to a neighborhood near the airport early Tuesday morning because smoke was seen coming from a building.  The call was made by the FAA tower.

Crews searched the area and discovered smoke coming from a home on Cedar Lane.

No one was in the house, so firefighters forced open the door. A fire was found in a bedroom at the rear of the house and quickly put out.

The damage from the fire is estimated at $15,000.

The cause is under investigation.
