Dalton PD searching for credit card fraud suspect
Dalton Police are searching for a man who used a stolen identity to open a store credit card at an area Walmart.
The crime happened at the Shugart Road Walmart. The man used the account to make around $1,500 in purchaes.
Dalton PD said a Murry County man reported that his information had been used to open the account. Throughout the investigation, police were able to determine that the account was created on April 10.
The suspect is a black male. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a gray pullover and a gray ball cap. He used the card to purchase two iPads and a Roku TV device.
The suspect used the victim's account number written o a receipt from where the account was opened to make the purchases.
The suspect also attempted to use the card at a Home Depot, but it was declined.
