Fuel-contaminated soil catches fire during gas station renovation
The small fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.
Chattanooga firefighters responded to a report of a brush fire Wednesday morning, and instead found soil, contaminated with fuel, that was a blaze.
Renovation work was underway at an old gas station at 4711 Brainerd Road. Workers were removing the fuel-laden soil when it ignited, according to the Chattanooga Fire Department's Facebook page.
The small fire was quickly extinguished. No one was injured.
