A Chattanooga police officer was arrested Sunday morning and charged with driving under the influence.
Michael Allen Trumbo, 28, was involved in a crash shortly after 5:00am as he attempted to merge onto US-27 from MLK Boulevard. Trumbo missing the ramp and ended up in one of the construction areas and went down a small embankment, according to the arrest report.
He was not injured in the crash.
Trumbo submitted to a field sobriety test and failed most of it. An alcohol breath test was taken at the jail and resulted in Trumbo's 0.144 BAC level.
He has been on paid administrative leave since Monday, according to the police department.
