UPDATE: I-24 WB re-opened after tractor trailer crash

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: Interstate 24 westbound in Marion County has been re-opened to traffic after a crash involving several big trucks.

Traffic is still backed-up on the interstate. Drivers should expect delays or seek alternate routes.

PREVIOUS STORY: This morning a tractor trailer carrying double haulers lost control of the second hauler being carried. The second hauler flipped and disconnected from the load shutting down I-24 westbound in Marion County at the state line around mile marker 166.

The driver was transported to a local hospital, but is expected to be okay.

Use an alternate route this morning if possible

We are already seeing a back-up to I-59.

Channel 3 currently has a crew tracking the developments of when the roadways will be back open.
