UPDATE: The city of Blue Ridge water system is experiencing what they are calling a "water emergency." Crews are working to solve the problem. They are asking customers to stop all non-essential water usage such as outdoor watering, car washing, pressure washing and filling pools.
If you do not have water or are under the boil water advisory, you can come by city hall for bottled water and you can fill your containers with water there as well. Bottled water is also available at the Fannin County Fire Station No. 1.
The North Georgia Health District has issued a boil water notice in Fannin County.
The notice says all restaurants, hotels, homes, and other facilities are under the notice and are serving and using water should follow guidance from the Georgia Department of Public Health.
NGHD says the water should not be used for drinking or cooking unless boiled first for at least two minutes.
