Catoosa County deputies arrested a man for waiting to call authorities after finding his friend's body in his own home last week.
According to the arrest report, 19-year-old Ryan Jeremy Jones is charged with concealing the death of a person, tampering with evidence, making false statements, and possession of marijuana.
The report says the victim, whose name has not been released, was a friend of Jones and called Jones to ask for a ride to East Brainerd on July 25. Jones told the victim that he would give him a ride but that he was not at home. Jones told the victim to walk to his house and wait for him there.
Jones told investigators that he when he returned to his house on Pine Grove Circle, he found his side door open and lights on in the home. Jones also said that his entire home was trashed and when he walked into his bedroom, he found his friend's body.
The report says during the investigation, detectives learned that Jones waited to call the Sheriff's Office to report the discovery of his friend. The report says Jones changed his story several times and moved or concealed evidence.
Jones had a 9-mm gun with the serial number removed on him, along with a small amount of marijuana, according to the report.
