Man injured, duplex damaged by fire

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

A man received minor burns when his home caught on fire Saturday afternoon. 

The Chattanooga Fire Department answered the call just before 5:30 Fire officials said when firefighters arrived on Arlington Avenue, smoke and flames could be seen coming from one side of the duplex.

The blaze quickly spread from the living room into the kitchen. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading next door.

The resident was taken to the hospital for treatment. He's expected to be okay. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation, damage is estimated at $30,000.

Occupants in the adjacent unit evacuated and their unit suffered no damages.
