Good Friday! Expect storms through the morning. We may get a break for an hour or two this afternoon, then more showers and storms will move through for drive time in the afternoon. Here is what to expect:
RAIN: We will see .50”-1” of rain north of Chattanooga and east into the Blue Ridge Mtns. Chattanooga will get 1”-1.5”. Our heaviest amounts will be in north Georgia where we could get 2”-2.5”. Some areas of flooding are possible through the late afternoon. The rain will taper off around 8pm or 9pm.
WIND: We may have a few storms that produce gusty winds of 50-60mph. That would be able to blow over a few tree limbs or power lines. Just as a precaution, I would be prepared for the power to go out at some point today.
TORNADOES/HAIL: The risk of hail and tornadoes is negligible, but we always need to be watchful when storms develop.
The weekend looks amazing. Behind the front we will have temps in the mid 80s, lots of sunshine, and much lower humidity levels both Saturday and Sunday.
All next week looks pretty good with temps staying in the mid to upper 80s, and little chance for rain.
