Child quickly saved by lifeguards at Hixson YMCA

HIXSON, TN (WRCB) -

Chattanooga police and Hamilton County EMS were called to the YMCA in Hixson for a child that was saved from the swimming pool Monday.

The incident happened just before 3:30 p.m.

Police confirm the boy the was under water for less than a minute and was quickly saved by lifeguards.

The child was alert and appeared to be okay, but police say he was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
