Chattanooga extended their lead 3-1 in the bottom of the second inning. Alex Perez got the scoring started for the Lookouts in the second inning when he hit a sacrifice fly to center field, which was deep enough for Levi Michael to score from third base. Lookouts leadoff batter, Nick Gordon, followed Perez with an RBI double on a scorching line drive to center field. Travis Harrison scored on the play, making the score 3-1 in favor of the Lookouts.

In the top of the third inning, Tennessee's Andrew Ely scored from third base on a fielder's choice, when Jason Vosler hit a slow roller to third. Chattanooga responded in the bottom of the third via a Levi Michael RBI double to right field, which was good enough to score a speedy Ryan Walker from first base. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Carlos Paulino knocked a sacrifice fly into left field to score Travis Harrison from third base. Tennessee tried to make things interesting in the top of the ninth inning when they scored a run and then loaded the bases for power hitter, Jason Vosler.
