UPDATE: Four injured in early morning shooting at the Playhouse Lounge
Chattanooga police are investigating an early morning shooting. Police said the shooting happened around the 4200 block of Bonny Oaks Drive.
UPDATE: Chattanooga police have identified the 4 victims shot in a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning.
According to police, Dereck Strickland, 23, Devin Brown , 18, Otis Franklin, 31, and William Wright, 18, were all taken to area hospitals with gunshot wounds.
Strickland remains in critical condition.
The shooting is also believed to be gang-related, according to police.
Police tape marks off the perimeter around playhouse lounge off Bonny Oaks Drive and gun shell casings marked by numbers are scattered throughout the area.
"Multiple shots," said Sgt. Victor Miller, "A large amount of shots were fired."
Chattanooga police said around 4:00 this morning they received calls from 3 different hospitals about victims with gunshot wounds.
One person was taken to Parkridge, another to Memorial and two to Erlanger, according to officers.
Sgt. Miller said a vehicle drove by and at least one person in the vehicle fired shots from the car into the parking lot .
"There were multiple people that were in the parking lot and we don't know what connections they may have at this time," said Sgt. Miller.
When channel 3 first arrived to the scene only the immediate parking lot was blocked off, as more shell casings were found by investigators, the media, and bystanders the scene quickly expanded.
A portion of Bonny Oaks Drive is now closed to traffic.
"We're still investigating how many people were shooting, how many rounds were shot, all of those," said Sgt. Miller, "We're still counting. We're still processing the scene."
A few hours into their investigation Chattanooga police officers knocked on the door to the Playhouse Lounge and discovered people inside, including the business owner, according to investigators.
It is still unclear why the people were in the building or how long they were there.
"When we made entry we found that people were inside the business that had remained there when the business closed," said Sgt. Miller.
Police said they will continue questioning witnesses and check any surveillance video that might be in the area.
"We're still working with witnesses in order to find out where the suspect was at when the suspect began shooting," Sgt. Miller urged.

Chattanooga Police say the shooting happened at The Playhouse Lounge around 4:00 a.m., when a suspect fired multiple shots into the parking lot.
The four shooting victims showed up to three different local hospitals Sunday morning.
One victim went to Parkridge Medical Center, another to CHI Memorial Hospital, and two shooting victims went to Erlanger.
Officials say one person is in critical condition, and the other victims are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
A portion of Bonny Oaks Drive is blocked off at this time off while Chattanooga Police investigate the area.
