An Alabama deputy crashed his vehicle early Tuesday morning in a resident's yard in Rainsville. 

DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says deputies and Rainsville Police started looking for the deputy that crashed, the found him at 1123 Main Street West in Rainsville.

Rainsville Fire Department came to assist on getting the deputy out of the vehicle. The fire department had to use their extrication tools to cut him and Jogi, the K-9 out of the vehicle. The deputy was transported to a Huntsville hospital, he suffered a broken leg and is in surgery, according to the Sheriff's Department. Jodi, the K-9 was taken to the vet and will be okay. 

A preliminary investigation says speed is not a factor, but road conditions. Sheriff Jimmy Harris says the deputy is expected to make a full recovery.
