CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
A newly elected Hamilton County commissioner's son was arrested on Saturday.
Court records show Greg Martin's son, Peyton, was stopped by police for driving through a stop sign near Fairview Road and Big Ridge Road in Chattanooga.
Officers said they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside Martin's car.
Documents said he also had pills.
18-year-old Peyton Martin was arrested on drug charges.
His father who won the District 3 county commission seat issued the following statement:
"First let me say we love our son very much. We are disappointed by the choices that he has been accused of Saturday afternoon. We will stand with our adult son to help him get the appropriate help he needs to address the issues he is facing. We appreciate prayers and privacy at this difficult time for our family."
