The road-widening project on East Brainerd Road had another water-related mishap Wednesday after a contractor hit a water line that fed a fire hydrant.
Tennessee American Water was able to repair the break, which happened near the intersection of East Brainerd Road and Morris Hill Road in front of the Publix supermarket.
Video shows a plume of water as motorists try to navigate around the break.
The break was reported about 8:15am and was repaired about 15 minutes afterward.
Daphne Kirksey of Tennessee American Water says that the break affected about 100 residents and had no impact on water safety. Customers may experience some sediment in their water.
Running the cold water on a larger volume tap, such as a bathtub, will help remove any of the sediment that may have been released from the break.
It happened just after 8 p.m. on Saturday.
