Both officers went to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
UPDATE: A Georgia man was arrested for assaulting two Walker County deputies early Thursday morning.
Officials responded to the Endeavor Pointe Apartments around 3:00 a.m., on reports of a prowler in the area.
Upon arrival, deputies found 32-year-old Jimmie A. Goins with a large kitchen knife in his possession. When commanded to drop the knife, Goins ran into a family member's home.
Officials followed Goins into the home, where he resisted arrest and fought with deputies. One deputy suffered a minor injury during the incident, and was treated at Cornerstone Medical Center.
Goins was arrested and charged with obstruction, aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, probation violation, and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
