Good Friday! The good news is whatever you are doing this weekend the weather will be favorable for it. The bad news is the drought continues to worsen and spread (Chattanooga rainfall is now more than 7" below average), and we are looking at record-breaking temperatures for the next 5 days. That warmth combines with the extensive dry weather to produce extremely high wildfire danger around the area. Don't do campfires, burning leaves, any of that until the weather cools and some rain comes our way.
Today look for sunny skies with a high of 82. The record is 84. We will have great weather for the ball games tonight as temps drop through the 70s under clear skies. Overnight we will drop to the upper 40s and low 50s.
Saturday will be a record breaker as the high soars to 84. The record is 82. It will be just as warm Sunday with sunshine and a high of 84. No record will be set though. We would have to get to 88.
Next week we will settle into a pattern of sunshine, lows near 60, and highs in the mid-80s. Each day through Wednesday we will either tie or break the record high.
Late next week we may get a front bringing some showers and a cool down for NEXT weekend.
