Catoosa County couple loses everything in fire days before welcoming baby

Posted: Updated:
RINGGOLD, GA (WRCB) -

A Catoosa County couple is without a home days before they welcome a new baby.

The home on Graysville Road in Ringgold was destroyed by fire on Monday.

HOW TO HELP | The Dabbs' GoFundMe page

A couple sentimental things are all Brie Perry and Brett Dabbs have left.

This was supposed to be a season of joy for the young couple, waiting to welcome their baby girl any day now.

"We had gotten everything that we could possibly dream of. We set up her room and we had so much stuff for this little girl, we had to move some to the living room," Dabbs said.

The baby will still bring joy, but the new parents are now scrambling to replace what they can before baby comes.

The only things the couple have are a baby carrier and a hospital bag.

"It just has three outfits in it, a couple burping cloths and a few diapers," Perry said.

They're also searching for two other members of their family-- The four-legged kind.

They believe Jed and Monster ran away during all the commotion.

"I think we've been more focused on the fact that our dog's are not here over losing all of our stuff. That's the main concern. I can replace that stuff," Dabbs added.

Hoping to find a little bit of normalcy and replace what they need most.

The couple isn't exactly sure what caused the fire, but believe it may have started with the hot water heater.

If you have donations that could help the family, they can be dropped off at 391 Graysville Road in Ringgold.
