Posted: Updated:

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fiery crash that sent a Whitfield County sheriff's deputy and two inmates to the hospital.

The accident happened around 7:45 Monday morning at the intersection of Hwy 52 and Clark's Bridge Road.

According to Georgia State Patrol, the deputy failed to stop at a stop sign. The patrol car was traveling east on Hwy 52, while a Dodge pick-up truck pulling a camper  was traveling north on Clark's Bridge Road (GA 284). The deputy struck the camper causing it to overturn.

When Hall County firefighters arrived on scene, they found a camper along with a deputy vehicle that was on fire. The people involved in the crash had already exited the vehicles and firefighters put out the blaze.

The deputy and two inmates were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. They were identified as Deputy Rosalia Pacheco-Hernandez, 23, Amanda Nicole Townsend, 33, and Hillary Marie Mchan, 30.

Steven Lawrence and Tenee Therese Gallo, both 57 of Lakeworth, Florida, were inside the Dodge and were not injured.

Deputy Rosalia Pacheco-Hernandez will not be charged, according to Georgia State Patrol Officials.
