Man arrested for burglary in Bradley Co. Church theft

Bradley County Sheriff's Office have arrested a man accused of burglary at a Bradley County church. 

On Wednesday, deputies responded to a wooded area on Burke Road to assist a constable investigate a vehicle that had trespassed on private property. Contact was made with the driver, Johnathan Graham Jr. and a small bag of what appeared to be meth amphetamine was in plain slight of the driver's seat. 

After Graham was taken into custody, inventory of the vehicle resulted in a mixer board, computer tower, and other musical equipment being located which had not been reported stolen at the time. 

Later, detectives and deputies responded to a burglary that had occurred at a church. While investigating, an EBT benefit card bearing the name of Johnathan Graham Jr. was found in the church's sanctuary. Additionally, equipment stolen from the church included items located in his vehicle the previous day. 

Further investigation by detectives led to the discovery of numerous items stolen at the church had been pawned at a Pawn Shop in the area. Detectives were also able to discover that Mr Graham was attempting to sale stolen items from the church on a website. An undercover operation resulted in Mr. Graham trying to sell the stolen items to detectives and additional stolen items being located in a residence’s bedroom. Additionally, detectives also discovered that Mr. Graham had his girlfriend pawn one of the items stolen from the church at a Pawn Shop.

Johnathan David Michael Graham Jr., 29, of Soddy Daisy, TN faces the following criminal charges: 

  • Burglary
  • Theft over $10,000
  • Simple Possession of Schedule II
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
