The Region's Subway's "Fit for Life" kicked off at Cherokee Ridge Elementary Thursday.

Channel 3 sports director Paul Shahen was the emcee of the school-wide assembly.

The program has kids tracking how many minutes they move each day for two weeks, and they are also focusing on the types of foods they eat.

Ten schools and more than 2,600 students registered across the Chattanooga area.

The school with the highest student average of minutes tracked will win a $1,000 sports package for their Physical Education Program, including soccer balls, kick balls, jump ropes and basketballs.
