LifeForce landed in Whitfield County Wednesday night for a man who was hit by a truck in Cohutta.
It happened around 7:40 p.m. at Hopewell and Putnam Roads.
Captain Rick Swiney with the Sheriff's Office tells Channel 3, 76-year-old Charles Whaley is in stable condition at Erlanger Thursday afternoon after being hit by a pickup truck the night before.
Swiney says the driver of the pickup truck saw Whaley and swerved to avoid him, but was unsuccessful, hitting Whaley with the passenger side mirror.
LifeForce was called to the scene.
Swiney says Whaley was wearing dark clothing and was hard to see. Investigators do not know why he was walking on the road at the time.
The driver of the truck will not be charged.
