UPDATE: CPD searching for possible suspect vehicle in Dodds Ave. shooting

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

UPDATE: Investigators with Chattanooga police have identified a possible suspect vehicle in the shooting that occurred at 3400 Dodds Avenue, on Sunday.

The vehicle is described as as Mercury Cab minivan #243. The van was purchased by a former Mercury Cab employee who still owns the cab. The van is no longer officially a Mercury Cab. On van #243 the Mercury Cab seal on the door has been removed but the #243 remains. Police say there is still a working light on the roof.

PREVIOUS STORY:  The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating after two people showed up to Erlanger Hospital with gunshot wounds Sunday night.

Officials responded to a shooting call around 10:00 p.m. on the 3400 block of Dodds Ave.

Two victims, one male and one female, were traveling together in a car when shot at by the suspect in a separate vehicle. 

Police say the victims attempted to drive themselves to Erlanger Hospital, but they were involved in a crash at 300 Central Ave.

Officials say another passenger was in the victims' car, but she was not injured in the shooting. 

Both victims' injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

There is no suspect information at this time, but the suspect vehicle is described as a white Dodge Minivan.

PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga Police were called to a hospital Sunday when three people showed up with gunshot wounds.    

An officer on the scene tells our crew the people were driving themselves to the hospital when the car they were in hit another car and then crashed into a building.  Their injuries are unclear at the moment.


Right now, police aren't sure where the shooting happened.
