Better glove use, training needed at Chattanooga restaurant
Most restaurants in Hamilton County and north Georgia fared well this week with no failures to report.
However, one Chattanooga restaurant needs to do some cleaning and training.
El Monterrey Mexican Restaurant at 531 Signal Mountain Road scored a 75. The inspector found raw bacon stored above ready-to-eat foods, servers handling lemons for drinks with their bare hands, no food safety certification and no consumer health advisories on the menus.
SACRA Coffee and Tea Shop, which posted a failing grade of 66 last week, improved its score to a 93 on a second inspection.
