Weekend Road Closures

Saturday, October 8th

  • Chattanooga Head Race:  Closures for this event will be from 9 a.m. on Friday, October 7th to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 8th. Includes: Riverfront Pkwy. from Molly Lane to Aquarium Way, Power Alley and Chestnut at Aquarium Way, and the ramp from Veterans Bridge onto Riverfront Pkwy.

  • Johnson Mental Health 10K Pumpkin Run & 5K Walk: The event will start on Moccasin Bend Road and will continue onto Pineville Road at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 8th. ?Note: The road will be open, but cars are advised to watch for runners in the road. 

  • Rucknooga: No road closures for this event, but motorists are advised to watch for servicemen as they march from 6219 Lee Hwy., down Brainerd Rd. to McCallie Ave., cutting over to Bailey Ave., down to the National Cemetary, through downtown and then on to the Navy Operational Support Center on Amnicola Hwy. 

  • Tour de Cure: No road closures for this event, but motorists are advised to watch for cyclists as they exit Enterprise South Park and continue on Volkswagen Dr. and Apison Pike and continue on through Ooltewah and Collegedale. 

  • UTC Football Home Game: The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's 2016 football schedule continues on October 8th at Finley Stadium, the second of six home games for the Mocs. Reggie White Blvd. will be closed on front of the First TN Pavilion. West 19th Street will be closed between Chestnut and Reggie White Blvd. Chestnut will be closed between 17th St. and 19th St.

Sunday, October 9th

  • Komen Race for the Cure: The following closures will begin at 1pm, and end at 4pm, on Sunday, October 9th: E. 5th St. from E. 3rd St. to Vine St., Vine St. from Douglas St. to Palmetto St., Collins St. and Hampton St. from E. 3rd St. to E. 5th St., Palmetto St. from E. 3rd St. to McCallie Ave., Fortwood Pl. from Oak St. to McCallie Ave., Fortwood St. from Palmetto St. to Wiehl St., with one westbound lane of traffic closed on McCallie Ave. The Susan G. Komen Foundation will host the 17th annual race in and around UTC campus this year. 

  • Urban/Nature 10K: This event will have lane closures on Cherokee Blvd. at Velma St. from 8am to 3pm on Sunday, October 9th. This run is half on roads in North Chattanooga and half on the trail at Stringers Ridge. The race begins and ends at Coolidge Park under the Market Street Bridge on the Tennessee River.

  • Chattanooga Market: Reggie White Boulevard will be closed from the entrance to the skate park to 19th Street on Sunday, October 9rg from 6am until 8pm.The largest producer-only public market in the region. Fresh locally-grown produce, breads, arts and more.
