Murphy Police looking for stolen flag retirement box

MURPHY, NC (WRCB) -

Officials in Cherokee County, North Carolina are looking for a stolen flag box and the people who took it. 

The U.S. Flag retirement box was located in the center of town in Murphy, NC

It was last seen Wednesday at noon, but was gone at 5:00 p.m.

The Murphy Police Department is investigating if you have any information their number is 828-837-2214.

    Good Tuesday.  We will be hot and humid again today with the high reaching 93 degrees.  The heat index will top out in the upper 90s.  While we will see clouds building through the day, the chance for rain is very small, less than 20%. Wednesday marks a big change in our weather.  We will see a cold front moving through which will bring scattered showers to the area late Wednesday morning into early afternoon.
