A man is facing charges in the death of a toddler in Murray County.

Deputies arrested Teodoro "Miguel" Rosas-Santos, 37, Wednesday on a charge of murder in the death of 23-month-old Isaiah Rosas.

The arrest stems from an investigation that began on Jan. 13. The Murray County Sheriff's Office asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist with an investigation into Rosas' death.

The boy's mother, Melissa Garner, found him dead when she returned home from work and taking other children in the home to school.

Investigators determined the boy died of asphyxia caused by his father, Rosas-Santos.

Rosas-Santos was taken into custody without incident and booked in the Murray County Jail.
