UPDATE: Charges have been dismissed against Jovarrus Stegall, a Chattanooga man who was accused of hitting a disabled adult.

Officials tell Channel 3 all charges have been dropped.

PREVIOUS STORY: A Chattanooga man is being accused of hitting a disabled adult.

Chattanooga police arrested Jovarrus Stegall, on Monday at D and S community services. A witness told police Stegall was assigned to be the victim's caretaker for the day and she witnessed him punching the victim in the face on June 26th.

Stegall is charged with Abuse of an Impaired Adult and Simple Assault. His bond is set at $5,000.
