UPDATE: The Chattanooga Fire Department helped to stop a tractor-trailer fire from destroying a local business on Monday.

Smoke and flames were reported around 5:45 a.m., and firefighters responded to the Bargain Hunt located at 1301 Hickory Valley Road.

Battalion Chief Rick Boatwright said the trailer was full of combustible materials, and it caught fire.

No injuries were reported.

The estimated dollar loss of the fire is around $10,000 for the trailer, and $5,000 for the outside of the Bargain Hunt building.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a tractor-trailer fire at a Bargain Hunt on Hickory Valley Road at East Brainerd Road early Monday morning.

Initial reports of fire came in around 5:45 a.m. 

The trailer was located at the store's loading dock. Firefighters cut venting holes into the trailer to allow the smoke to escape and to help battle the fire.

The area around the store experienced some traffic backups as first responders temporarily blocked roads to battle the fire.

Details are limited at this time, but we do know that the Hamilton County EMS also responded to the scene.
