Vols cornerback Justin Martin suspended for Georgia game

Posted: Updated:

ATHENS, Ga. — Tennessee junior cornerback Justin Martin has been suspended for Saturday's game against Georgia for a violation of team rules.

Martin was replaced in the starting lineup this week by freshman Baylen Buchanan.

Martin struggled against Florida last Saturday in Tennessee's 38-28 win. He received an unsportsmanlike penalty for a hit on the attempt to kneel after the kickoff and was beaten on several deep passes in the first quarter.

Martin has nine total tackles in three games this season. He missed Tennessee's game against Ohio with an ankle injury.

No. 11 Tennessee and No. 20 Georgia will kick off at 3:30 p.m. at Sanford Stadium.
