Man dies while installing restaurant air conditioner
A Chatsworth man died Monday after he fell off of a Dalton restaurant's roof while installing a new air conditioner.
A Chatsworth man died Monday after he fell through the roof of a Dalton restaurant while installing a new air conditioner.
A Whitfield County Sheriff's Office deputy was dispatched to the Engine Room restaurant on Waring Road, responding to a report of a man that fell through the roof.
The deputy spoke with an employee who stated that she was in the kitchen working with her mother, when she hard a loud commotion in the common area. She and her mother rushed outside and saw a man, later identified as 21-year-old Dustin Jennings lying on the ground. She called 911 and they instructed her to start CPR.
Officials say a co-worker of Jennings said he was in the bathroom when Jennings fell through the top of the roof. The co-worker stated he heard a loud noise, according to the incident report.
The cause of the incident has been ruled Accidental Death or Injury.
