NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Gov. Bill Haslam and Health Commissioner John Dreyzehner (DRY-zen-er) are traveling to Chattanooga to get their annual flu vaccinations and encourage other Tennesseans to follow suit.

The governor and commissioner are scheduled to receive their shots at the Southeast Tennessee Regional Health Office on Friday afternoon. Health officials say immunization not only helps the people who are inoculated, but also protects their families, friends and co-workers.

The state Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control recommend flu shots for everyone over than six months old.

Flu vaccine is available at county health departments, medical clinics and pharmacies around the state.
