Mocs gain NYC Sports Writer as fan through writers adopt a team project

Chattanooga is up to No. 3 in the FCS Coaches Poll so it's no surprise the Mocs are gaining fans, but their newest fan is exactly that, a surprise.

A national sports writer based in the New York started an online push to adopt a favorite team, simply because he didn't have one. That road, twisted, turned and landed right here in the Scenic City. The writer, Charles Curtis who writes for "For the Win" proclaimed his love for the Chattanooga Mocs in a recent online column. UTC Head coach Russ Huesman is happy to have him, "I thought that was pretty cool when I read it. I saw it on Twitter and read the article. I thought it was really neat. So I followed him on Twitter, he followed me back. That kind of recognition, people talking is nothing but positive for us. I thought that was pretty cool," said Huesman.

Chattanooga and it's growing fan base welcomes Samford to Finley Stadium this Saturday at 2PM. It's the nations number one FCS defense in Chattanooga meeting the nations number one FCS offense in Samford.
