CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

An Ooltewah man was arrested Sunday morning for his third DUI offense after falling asleep behind the wheel and crashing into a parked car.

Thirty-year-old John Charles Schenck collided with the parked vehicle in front of Gold's Gym on Lee Highway. Police say that car came to rest after traveling across a parking lot, and Schenck fell asleep.

Police found an 18-ounce bottle of Bud Light in Schenck's Honda.

Schenck apparently bypassed the vehicle's interlock, and was arrested after failing a roadside sobriety test.

He was arrested for driving under the influence for the third time,  and for driving with a revoked license.

For bypassing the ignition interlock, Schenck was charged with ignition interlock violation and
vandalism/malicious mischief.
